Hi, I’m Hrishita.
I am a multidisciplinary designer interested in cultivating joy and curiosity through objects, spaces and stories. Curiosity guides my explorations, and I strive to create connections that lead to new ways of seeing and making.
My process is research-based, user-centred and hands-on.
In my free time, you’ll find me gushing about animated films, walking around Providence, and looking for constellations.
Studying Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, with a dual-concentration in
Nature-Culture-Sustainability Studies + Computation-Technology-Culture.
About my process:
This series of images was discovered through microscopy. I was building a gameplay map to document an experiment in my freshman year of college to learn more about the city that was my new home;
my research question: how might we engage more meaningfully with our built environment? I often find myself going back to microscopy and this question.
This love for zooming in perfectly summarises my approach to my work. Curiosity drives my process, and I’m drawn to what may be hidden or overlooked.
With details, textures and stories, I strive to layer form, function and context in meaningful ways for user-centred solutions. Blending a research-driven approach with wit and playfulness, my work exercises empathy, problem-solving and, often, worldbuilding.
I hope to tell a good story and build a more engaged world.
